TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – The Compassus program serving Tullahoma and the surrounding areas is hosting an eight-week grief recovery program this fall for those who have experienced loss. The program will meet Thursday evenings, Oct. 5 through Nov. 30, from 5:30 – 7:45 p.m. There will be no class Nov. 23 in observance of Thanksgiving.
The program will be facilitated by R. Jack Kennington, a certified grief recovery specialist at Compassus – Tullahoma. This is a structured, action-based educational program open to the community and based on the book, “The Grief Recovery Handbook,” written by John W. James and Russell Friedman. There is no fee to attend, however a $10 donation to the Hospice of the Highland Rim Foundation is suggested.

The class will be limited to nine participants.
In addition to grief support classes for the general public, Kennington is also offering one-hour grief recovery seminars for organizations such as assisted living and long-term care facilities, doctor’s offices, churches and senior centers.
