The Compassus program serving West Branch and the surrounding areas recognizes Chaplain Randy Brokaw during Pastoral Care Week, October 22-28, 2017, for providing the highest level of spiritual care and guidance for hospice patients and their families.

“We are proud to recognize Randy’s tireless efforts to provide compassionate support and exceptional spiritual counseling to our patients and their families,” said Chad Pashak, executive director for Compassus – West Branch. “Hospice chaplains offer spiritual support – directly or in collaboration with a patient’s or family’s own clergy or spiritual counselor – to provide a more meaningful end-of-life experience. Randy’s selflessness, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes him an integral part of our Compassus team.”

Regardless of spiritual, religious or cultural background, Pastoral Care Week celebrates those who provide spiritual support to those receiving hospice or palliative care wherever they call home and in many other settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes.

Compassus – West Branch will recognize local pastoral care providers next week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
