PRINCETON, W.Va. – The Compassus program serving Princeton and the surrounding areas, in partnership with Princeton Community Hospital, will host a seminar, “How Palliative Care is Changing the Way Physicians Care for Patients,” on April 21-22.

Mohana Karlekar, M.D., medical director for the Palliative Care Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, will host three presentations for community and healthcare professionals, as well as physicians. Karlekar serves on the Compassus professional advisory committee.

“As the number of people who die from life-limiting illnesses increases, so do the physician skills necessary to provide end-of-life care,” said Stori Pugh, executive director of Compassus – Princeton. “We are honored to have Dr. Karlekar speak to our local healthcare professionals about the growing palliative care movement.”
