MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Compassus program serving Memphis and the surrounding areas is proud to recognize Shelia Shelton during National Nursing Assistants Week, June 9-16, for providing the highest level of quality hospice care for patients and their families. She has been working at Compassus since April 2015.
“We are proud to recognize Shelia for her tireless efforts to provide our patients and their families with superior hospice care that goes beyond fulfilling their medical and emotional needs, delivering a more meaningful end-of-life experience for our patients,” said Kaylin Bluma, executive director for Compassus – Memphis. “Shelia’s positive and caring attitude, exceptional ability to understand and comfort patients, and willingness to support colleagues makes her an integral part of the care we provide. We are extremely fortunate to have her on the Compassus team.”
Nursing assistants provide as much as 90 percent of the direct long term care delivered in the United States, interacting daily with an array of personalities, cultures, abilities and disabilities in nursing homes, home care, hospice, assisted living, and other long term care settings.
Compassus – Memphis will recognize other local nursing assistants during National Nursing Assistants Week by presenting them with framed certificates of appreciation for their dedication to the patients and families they serve.
